Apple Macbook Air
'The Special One'

Film and editorial director

A culturally tailored comedy campaign positioning the MacBook Air M3 as the ultimate tool for Saudi students—balancing humor, product storytelling, and cross-cultural nuance.

Client: Apple / Jarir
Agency: VML, Lebanon
Role: Film and Editorial Director
Medium: TVC, Online

Challenge: Showcase the MacBook Air M3’s standout features—including long battery life, Arabic support, and seamless performance—in a culturally relevant, youth-focused campaign for the Saudi market, while aligning with Apple’s global creative standards. Insight: The films hero student is known as “The Special One” not just because of her academic drive—but because she’s chosen a superior tool. The MacBook Air M3 gives her a clear edge over peers using slower, less capable PCs. Execution: Framed as a tongue-in-cheek nature documentary, the film follows a high-achieving Saudi student portrayed with admiration and humor. I directed the film while collaborating with Apple’s U.S. creative team and the originating Lebanese agency—balancing regional nuance with global brand expectations. Filmed in Georgia (Eastern Europe), the bilingual production required coordination across Saudi, Lebanese, and U.S. time zones, and delivery in both English and Arabic for wide digital release.
